Planet – The Welsh Internationalist – Issue 200

I’m selling off my collection of Planet magazines, as I need to create shelf space. All magazines, except the pre-1990s ones, were bought by me on subscription, have been read once (if that), and stored carefully, so are in pretty decent condition. Any that are in less sparkling condition will be noted. Rather than spend hours listing every single article in the magazines, I’m including a list of contributors, and subjects of articles: if you’d like more information on specific articles/issues, please get in touch. I wrap all my books and magazines very carefully, using recycled materials wherever possible. Purchases are generally dispatched within 24 hours of receipt of payment, except for weekends (dispatched on Monday afternoon). This issue includes articles/poems/pictures by and about the following: Nigel Jenkins, Meic Stephens, Ceridwen Lloyd-Morgan, Robert Minhinick, Henry Morton Stanley, Huw Lawrence, Teleri Williams, Xesús Fraga, Emily Trahair, Green Man 2010 photo essay, Dafydd Prys, Patrick Carlin, John Fraser Williams, Peter Finch, Tony Curtis, Philip Williams, Damian Walford Davies. If you need any information about this item, please get in touch. If Twitter is easier, my user name there is the same as here. Rwy’n hapus i gyfathrebu yn yr hen iaith, hefyd. Diolch yn fawr, Nic Dafis

The Abbey Chronicles-Elsie Jeanette Oxenham Society 1989-2008 Near Complete Run

The Abbey Chronicle: The Journal of the Elsie Jeanette Oxenham Appreciation Society Near complete run, published quarterly, from issue 3 in 1989 through to issue 59 in 2008, lacking just number 54, so a number count of 56 separate journals. For the most part the journals are in very good condition, a couple of duplicates will be thrown in with the lot, and will be sent with 8 special Abbey Chronicle Folders. Illustrated with black and white photos and drawings. Naturally a weighty lot, so UK postage will be £9. Overseas bidders please contact me to confirm shipping rates BEFORE bidding. Winning bidder, please await an Invoice, as Postage will need to be added before payment. Elsie Jeanette Dunkerley (25 November 1880 – 9 January 1960), was an English girls’ story writer, who took the name Oxenham as her pseudonym when her first book, Goblin Island, was published in 1907. Her Abbey Series of 38 titles are her best-known and best-loved books. In her lifetime she had 87 titles published and another two have since been published by her niece, who discovered the manuscripts in the early 1990s. She is considered a major figure among girls’ story writers of the first half of the twentieth century, being one of the ‘Big Three’ with Elinor Brent-Dyer and Dorita Fairlie Bruce. Angela Brazil is as well-known – perhaps more so – but did not write her books in series about the same group of characters or set in the same place or school, as did the Big Three. Oxenham’s books are widely collected and there are several Appreciation Societies: in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa; with a total membership of over six hundred, some of whom live in the US, Canada, India and The Netherlands although belonging to one or more of the societies mentioned. One of a number of similar Items I am selling. Postage combined when taking more than one item where possible. If Purchasing ‘Courier’ or Multiple items please await an invoice BEFORE paying. ***Canadian Bidders*** Unfortunately Due to changes made by the Royal Mail for deliveries to Canada over 2kg, I may not be able to offer books over 2kg to Canadian bidders at the standard rate that applies to North American bidders. Any Canadian bidders wishing to purchase books over 2kg can do so but the cost will be high at £47 Airmail, no surface mail available, although this also gives a limit of 10kg. Heavy items may not be able to be sent to PO Boxes overseas. Contact me for more details ***Overseas Bidders*** No cheques please unless drawn on a UK bank. Overseas transactions to be paid with Paypal, NO Foreign Currency, thanks ***All Bidders*** Please note that items are sent to the address as stated on your invoice unless I am imformed otherwise in A SEPARATE EMAIL VIA EBAY. I reserve the right to charge an additional fee for higher value items to cover the cost of a ‘signed for’ service. Postage is combined when more than one item is purchased where possible. MY GRADINGS New: A new book, never used. Fine (F): Should have no flaws, a perfect copy of a used book. Mint: Another term for Fine. As New (AN): Although a used book, it should appear unread with no flaws, just as when it was sold new. Near Fine (NF): May show a small flaw, such as shelf wear, but nearly perfect and unread. Very Good (VG): The broadest category for used books, this describes any average used book. May have small flaws, and has probably been read, but should appear overall clean and attractive. Good (G): Will probably have significant wear or damage, although is still intact. Suitable for reading, but not necessarily a good gift copy. The old saying in bookselling is “good ain’t good.” Fair: Another term for Poor or Reading Copy: Heavily worn or damaged, a poor book will be readable but not attractive. May have the odd page missing, but this will be noted on the relative listing. Binding Copy: This will be the complete pages of the book, but the binding has been broken or damaged to the point it will need professional rebinding On 19-Apr-12 at 19:29:18 BST, seller added the following information: blofieldbooks Store Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
